THESPIAN SOCIETY

What is The International Thespian Society?

The International Thespian Society is the only theatre honor society for middle and high school students in the United States. Affiliation brings credibility and distinction to students, theatre programs, and schools. It is a visible, positive symbol of the quality of a high school theatre program.

ITS recognizes, rewards, and encourages student achievement and celebrates the work of students in all aspects of theatre – performance and production. Each student is honored on a national level and gains access to opportunities and resources beyond those of their school.

To be considered for membership into Troupe #1722, students must work a minimum of 100 hours in the theatre. See Mrs. Tyson for more information on how to earn hours toward membership into the International Thespian Society.

What is ThesCon?

Simply put, ThesCon is the best three days of high school theatre in Georgia! The Georgia Thespian Conference features dozens of productions presented by high schools from throughout the state. Students also participate in a variety of workshops led by theater professionals from around the country. And if that weren’t enough, they can perform or view individual performance and tech events, audition for scholarships, talk to college representatives from around the country, shop with commercial vendors selling theater merchandise, and hang out with 5,000 other Georgia Thespians.

Rome High Theatre is proud to offer this amazing opportunity to our Thespian Society students each year. The Boosters are committed to ensuring that any student who wishes to participate is not prevented from doing so because of the expense. If you'd like to help us help these students experience this extraordinary conference, please consider donating.
